TNR Volunteers

There are loads of individuals and organisations volunteering in TNR around Ireland (currently no funding is available for paid positions), though not every county is covered yet. If you're looking for someone to help you out with your feral colony, check here for those available in your area. If you don't see anyone, maybe you'd like to train in TNR, borrow traps and equipment and get cracking yourself.

Keep in mind that there are trappers who aren't on this list - some don't want the publicity (they've plenty to be getting on with without it!), some we've simply missed. To find such trappers it's worth checking around - ask at your local vets, pet shops, animal welfare organisations - they might know an elusive trapper near you!

Trap Neuter Release is a programme where members of the public concerned about the welfare of local feral cats can avail of subsidised neutering. Feral cats can be brought to the DSPCA Monday to Thursday (drop off at 9.30am) and neutered for just €25 per cat. All feral cats must arrive at the shelter in a cat trap NOT a pet carrier. We can provide cat traps but we do require a €100 cash deposit for the trap which is returned to you when you return the trap to us.

KLAWS was founded in 2006 by a group of animal loving volunteers in Kenmare, Co. Kerry. The area in which KLAWS operates has since expanded to include the Iveragh peninsula and northern parts of the Beara peninsula. KLAWS achieved registered charity status in 2014, and continues to grow. Sadly, this growth is to meet the demands of an increasingly large number of abandoned animals in our community.

TNR Roscommon is a small charity run by volunteers who strive to help as many homeless/feral cats in Roscommon as we possibly can. We are strictly a TNR group and not a rescue, we are unable to take in cats or kittens, we are solely about preventing unwanted litters of kittens. Our few volunteers all have jobs and families and give up what little free time they have to organize fundraising, transport, vet appointments , etc. All are based between Ballygar to Roscommon town which of course limits the areas we can offer help to. Our resources are very limited so we ask that people try work with us so between us we can achieve the best outcome possible for our furry friends.
