A blood sport is a category of sport or entertainment that involves bloodshed. Common examples include combat sports such as cockfighting and dog fighting and some forms of hunting and fishing. Dog fighting is illegal in Ireland; hare coursing, fox hunting are two of many blood sports that are not. Some would consider greyhound and horse racing blood sports.
